PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to furnish entire details under RTI Act, 2005 to the petitioner as per the order passed by the 1st respondent in S.A.10472/Enquiry/E/2022 dated 22.01.2024 and consequently direct the 3rd respondent to pay the compensation of Rs.25,000/- to the petitioner as per the section 20(1) of the RTI Act. 1/4

ORDER

The petitioner had filed an application on 27.04.2022 to the 4th respondent seeking information regarding the persons who have paid land tax at Polandhur Village between 1947 and 1970. The present writ petition relates thereto.

2. Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of respondents 2 to 4 and Mr.Ananth C.Rajesh, learned Standing Counsel, accepts notice for the first respondent. Learned Special Government Pleader refers to the order of the first respondent and points out that it is recorded therein that the information requested for by the petitioner pertains to the Kodaikanal Taluk. Consequently, he submits that the request should be made to the Tahsildar, Kodaikanal.

3. In view of the aforesaid, this writ petition is disposed of by leaving it open to the petitioner to approach the Public Information Officer of the Kodaikanal Taluk. No costs.
