O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 2 to 4 to consider the petitioners' representation dated 25.02.2025 and, thereafter, cancel Joint Patta No. 6805 issued on 28.10.2024 in favour of the private respondents 5 to 8 in respect of the land comprised in Survey No. 423/4A1E of Keeranur 2/6

Village, Kulathur Taluk, Pudukkottai District and to take necessary action against respondents 5 to 8. The petitioners also seek a direction to make appropriate entries recording Survey No. 423/4A1E as a common pathway in the Field Measurement Book (FMB) and all other relevant government records.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties and perused the materials available on record.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the respondents 2 and 3 will consider and dispose of the petitioners' representation in accordance with law. 4.In view of the above submission, without going into the merits of the matter, this Court directs the respondents 2 and 3 to consider and dispose of the representation dated 25.02.2025 after conducting an inquiry, which shall include issuing notice to the petitioners, respondents 5 to 8, the joint pattadhars and any other persons who may be affected, and considering any objections submitted by them. The respondents 2 and 3 shall thereafter pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance 3/6

with law. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. In the event of any rival claims, the same shall be agitated before the competent civil court. No costs.
