ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to remove the unlawful construction of a temple and its compound wall allegedly put up by the respondents 3 to 5 in front of the petitioner's house situated at Door No.9A, Chinnakattanagaram, Thiruppanandal West Village, Thiruvidaimaruthur Taluk, Thanjavur District, and consequently to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to prevent any future construction of a temple or compound wall in front of the petitioner's house by the respondents 3 to 5 or by any other person, based on the petitioner's representations dated 25.08.2025, 22.09.2025 and 29.09.2025.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. Perused the materials available on records.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the respondents 3 to 5 have put up a temple structure and compound wall in front of the petitioner's house, completely obstructing the petitioner's access to the public road. In support of his contention, he has produced photographs.

4. A perusal of the photographs clearly indicates that the petitioner's access to the road has been totally blocked. It is seen that the original structure, which was only in the form of a shed, did not cause any impediment to the petitioner's access. Therefore, the structure now put up shall be demolished, and the original shed-like structure shall alone be retained by the official respondents, ensuring that the petitioner's access to the road is restored. This is a case where the faith has literally been expanded to reach the petitioner's doorstep, leaving him with no ingress or egress.

5. This writ petition is allowed accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions is closed.
