ORDER

The petitioner seeks to quash the impugned final report filed for the offences under Sections 147, 294(b), 323, 506(ii) and 326 I.P.C.

2. The gist of the allegation is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioners attacked the defacto complainant with iron rod and hands and abused in filthy language and committed the offence of criminal intimidation.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the other accused are living abroad and the petitioners and the second respondent /defacto complainant belong to same village and the parties have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The defacto complainant stated that he do not wish to pursue the case as against the petitioners and other accused as well. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 22.08.2025.

4. The petitioners and the defacto complainant are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.G.Ramamoorthy, Special 2/4

Sub Inspector of Police, Uvari Police Station, Tirunelveli District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

5. Considering the nature of the offences, relationship and the compromise arrived at between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report is quashed in entirety and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 22.08.2025, shall form part and parcel of the order. The petitioners shall jointly pay a cost of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) to the credit of the "District Siddha Medical Officer, CCRI, Periyakulam" (Account No.10767823177, IFSC Code: SBIN0000898, MICR Code: 625002601) and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
