2. The allegation in the final report is that the petitioners had abducted the victim girl when she was sixteen years old, and thus committed the aforesaid offence.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the 1st petitioner and the victim girl, whose date of birth is 01.02.2008, had a love affair, and that the victim girl voluntarily went to the house of the 1st petitioner; that the 2nd and 3rd petitioners are the parents of the 1st petitioner; that the victim girl has not attained majority; that she does not wish to pursue the case any further against the petitioners; that the parties have 2/5

now arrived at a compromise; and that they have filed a joint compromise memo dated 12.11.2025.

4. The petitioners, the de-facto complainant/the mother of the victim girl, and the victim girl are present before this Court in person, and they are identified by M/s.Muthalagu, Special Sub-Inspector of Police, Emaneswaram Police Station, Ramanathapuram District. All parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them, and the victim girl herself stated that she voluntarily went to the house of the petitioners and in any case, she does not wish to pursue the impugned proceedings. The de-facto complainant, who is the mother of the victim girl, also does not wish to pursue the case any further.

5. Considering the fact that the victim girl initially had a love affair with the 1st petitioner, that she does not wish to pursue the case any further, and in view of the compromise arrived at between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the impugned proceedings pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report, in P.R.C.No.51 of 2025 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram District, is quashed.
