ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.274 of 2022 on the file of the learned District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate No.1, Usilampatti, Madurai District.

2. During the course of arguments, when this Court expressed that the points raised by the learned counsel for the petitioners are factual in nature, the learned counsel for the petitioners sought permission to withdraw this petition. However, the learned counsel would submit that the petitioners are facing investigation since 2018; and that though the final report was filed in the year 2022, the trial has not been proceeded and no witnesses have been examined so far. Hence, the trial Court may be directed to expedite the trial.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners is justified in making such request. Hence, the learned Magistrate is directed to complete the trial within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed as withdrawn. The personal appearance of the petitioners before the Trial Court is dispensed with on all hearing dates (provided they are represented by a 2/4

lawyer) unless their appearance are required by the learned District Munsifcum-Judicial Magistrate No.1, for the progress of the trial.
