CORAM:

THE HONOURABLE MR.JUSTICE K.KUMARESH BABU A.Velliyangiri Aandavar ... Petitioner Vs The Teachers Recruitment Board, Rep by its Secretary Perasiriyar Anbalagan Kalvi Valagam College Road Nungambakkam, Chennai.

... Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to permit the petitioner to apply for the recruitment Notification No.04/2025 dated 16.10.2025 to the post of Assistant Professor in Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Service for Government Arts and Science Colleges and Government Colleges of Education by considering the petitioner representation dated 03.11.2025 For Petitioner : Mr. V.Panneer Selvam For Respondents : Mr.T.Amjad Khan Government Advocate 1/4

O R D E R

The petitioner is seeking a Mandamus to direct the respondents to permit the petitioner to apply for the recruitment Notification issued on 16.10.2025 for the post of Assistant Professor in Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Service for Government Arts and Science Colleges and Government Colleges of Education.

2. It is admitted that the petitioner does not possess the basic qualification of the State Eligibility Test (SET). However, the learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that no examination has been conducted by the Government from 2018-2024. However, it is admitted that an examination was conducted in 2024-25 in which the petitioner had failed to clear the examination. It is the contention that he had also filed a Writ Petition sought to reduce the pass percentage in respect of the examination held during 2024-25. If such orders have been passed, he would be entitled to SET.

3. This Court is of the view that without challenging the said Notification, the present Writ Petition for a simple Mandamus cannot be entertained and also such claim cannot be sustained at the present stage. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
