ORDER

The petitioners sought for quashing of the FIR registered for the alleged offences under Sections 191(2), 140(3), 296(b), 115(2) and 351 (3) BNS.

The gist of the allegations in the impugned FIR is that the 5th petitioner had a love affair with the defacto complainant; that the defacto complainant was in possession of certain intimate pictures and the petitioners demanded the pictures and also attacked him and thus, committed the aforesaid offences

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners are college going students and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 03.11.2025.

4. The petitioners and the second respondent are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Ms.A.Jayalakshmi, WSSI, 2/5

Tallakulam Police Station, Madurai City. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

4. Considering the nature of the allegation and the compromise arrived, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.972 of 2025 is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 03.11.2025, shall form part and parcel of the order. The petitioners shall jointly pay a cost of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) to the credit of the "District Siddha Medical Officer, CCRI, Periyakulam" (Account No.10767823177, IFSC Code: SBIN0000898, MICR Code: 625002601) and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
