ORDER

The petitioners seek to quash the impugned final report filed for the offences under Sections 147, 148, 341, 294(b), 324, 326 and 506(ii) IPC.

2. The gist of the allegation is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioners and other accused had attacked the defacto complainant with beer bottle, abused him in filthy language and also threatened with dire consequences.

3. Admittedly, the petitioners and the second respondent belong to same village and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 05.11.2025.

4. The petitioners and the defacto complainant are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.V.Chandrasekaran, SSI, Kenikarai Police Station, Ramanathapuram District. The defacto 2/5

complainant does not wish to pursue the case as against all the accused. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

Considering the nature of the allegation, the relationship and the compromise arrived at between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report is quashed in entirety and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 05.11.2025, shall form part and parcel of the order. The petitioners shall jointly pay a cost of Rs.10,000/- to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
