ORDER

The petitioners seek to quash the impugned final report filed for the offences under Sections 294(b), 323 and 506(i) I.P.C.

2. The gist of the allegation is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioners along with others had attacked the defacto complainant with hands and abused in filthy language and committed the offence of criminal intimidation.

3. Admittedly, the petitioners and the second respondent belong to same village and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 17.11.2025.

4. The petitioners and the defacto complainant are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.D.Sivasakthivel, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Aravayal Police Station, Sivagangai District. The defacto complainant would state that he does not wish to pursue the 2/5

case even as against the other accused i.e.,Accused No.4, who has not filed the quash petition. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

Considering the nature of the offences and the compromise arrived at between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report is quashed in entirety and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 17.11.2025, shall form part and parcel of the order. The petitioners shall jointly pay a cost of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
