Respondents PRAYER :- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to settle the petitioners husband Late.G.Jaganathans surrender leave salary of Rs.3,86,000/- together with interest at the rate of 6 percentage per annum payable from the date when the same became due to till the date of actual disbursement.

ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed by the wife of a retired employee of the respondent Transport Corporation, seeking a Mandamus for disbursement of the surrender leave salary along with interest.

2. Though the petitioner's husband served the respondent corporation till the date of his death i.e on 10.09.2023, the surrender leave salary has not been disbursed to the writ petitioner, despite giving representation to the respondents on 22.09.2025, for disbursing the said benefits. Since the representation has not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to release the eligible surrender leave salary of the petitioner's

husband to the writ petitioner along with interest at the rate of 6% per annum, from the due date till the date of disbursement, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
