PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorari calling for the records relating to the impugned proceeding order made by the 2nd respondent in his proceedings in Na.Ka.A1/1846/2025 dated 17.10.2025 and quash the same as illegal. 1/5

ORDER
An order dated 17.10.2025 is challenged in this writ petition in so far as the subdivisions in favour of Raja Nirain and Absara under S.No.374/5B2 were directed to be cancelled.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that Rajagiri was the duly adopted son of Palaniappan @ Subbaiah. He relies on the legal heirship certificate at page 95 of the typed set. As the daughter of Rajagiri, learned counsel submits that the petitioner was entitled to a patta and that such patta was wrongly directed to be cancelled by the impugned order.
3. Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for respondents 1 to 3. He points out that the impugned order was issued after considering the submissions of Rajagiri. On account of the existence of an alternative statutory remedy, learned counsel submits that the petitioner should be directed to take recourse to such alternative remedy.
2/5
4. The impugned order was issued after hearing the petitioner, Solaiammal and the respondent Rajagiri. The order even records that an inquiry was conducted on 07.05.2025, 20.05.2025 and 30.09.2025. The issues raised by the petitioner are purely factual. In view of the existence of an alternative statutory remedy by way of revision, I am not inclined to exercise discretionary jurisdiction.
5. Therefore, by permitting the petitioner to file a revision before the District Revenue Officer, this writ petition is disposed of. If the petitioner files such revision petition within 30 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, the District Revenue Officer shall receive and dispose of the same on merits. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are also closed.
