PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of MANDAMUS directing the respondent to issue patta in favour of the petitioner, based on the petitioner's online application No. 2025/0105/13/487418 dated 16.06.2025 within the time limit that may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

By relying on sale deed dated 01.11.2000 in favour of the petitioner's late mother and the death certificate and legal heirship certificate, the petitioner had applied for transfer of patta in her name.

2. Learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for the sole respondent. He submits that the petitioner's application would be disposed of on merits within three months. The sale deed filed by the petitioner indicates that one Angammal purchased the properties described in the schedule thereto. The legal heirship certificate mentions the name of the petitioner as the sole surviving legal heir of the deceased Angammal. Therefore, a case is made out to consider the petitioner's request.

3. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the Tahsildar to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's request for patta transfer within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Reasonable opportunity shall be provided to the petitioner and to the other legal heirs before a decision is taken. No costs.
