ORDER

The petitioners seek to quash the impugned final report filed for the offences under Sections 147,148, 294(b), 323 and 324 I.P.C.

2. The gist of the allegation is that on account of wordy quarrel, the petitioners had attacked the defacto complainant and two other victims with hands, knife and abused them in filthy language and committed the offence of criminal intimidation.

3. Admittedly, the petitioners and the defacto complainant and other two victims, viz., the respondents 2 to 4, have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 10.11.2025. 2/5

4. The petitioners and the defacto complainant and other two victims are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.C.Malaisamy, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Ponnamaravathi Police Station, Pudukkottai District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

5. Considering the nature of the offences and the compromise arrived at between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 10.11.2025, shall form part and parcel of the order. The petitioners shall jointly pay a sum of Rs.10,000/- as costs to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry. 18.11.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No LS 3/5
