Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay interest at the rate of 6 percent per annum, for the period of delay from 01.06.2023 to 16.09.2025 in paying the amounts paid towards the terminal benefits within a time frame as may be fixed by this Honble Court and pass such further or other orders as this Honble Court may deem fit and proper in the nature and circumstances of the case and thus render justice. 1/4

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay interest at the rate of 6 percent per annum, for the period of delay from 01.06.2023 to 16.09.2025 in paying the amounts paid towards the terminal benefits.

2. Considering the admitted fact that there has been a delay in payment, the petitioner is entitled to statutory interest as provided under law.

3. In view of the same, the writ petition stands disposed of. The respondents are directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum on the belated terminal benefits payable to the petitioner from the date of his entitlement till the date of his payment within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
