ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed, invoking Section 528 of BNSS, seeking orders to direct the respondent to file a final report in Crime No.6 of 2022 on the file of the respondent police within stipulated time to be fixed by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent Police would submit that the respondent examined 52 witnesses and collected 40 documents; that the evaluation was conducted at 17 Town Panchayats in Theni District by the PWD Expert Team and that they have to examine some more witnesses and seeks three months further time to complete the investigation.

4. Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), the respondent police is directed to complete the investigation and file final report in Crime No.6 of 2022 before the jurisdictional Magistrate Court, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
