ORDER

The petitioners sought for quashing of the impugned FIR registered for the alleged offences under Sections 294(b), 323, 506(i) I.P.C. and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002.

The gist of the allegation in the FIR is that the 1st petitioner is the husband of the defacto complainant; that there were matrimonial differences; that due to which there was a wordy altercations and the petitioners attacked the defacto complainant with hands, abused in filthy language and committed the offence of criminal intimidation.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners and the second respondent are close relatives and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 17.11.2025.

4. The petitioners and the second respondent are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Ms.P.Latha, WHC-744, AWPS, Srirangam, Trichy City. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

5. Considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.18 of 2025 is quashed in entirety and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 17.11.2025, shall form part and parcel of the order. The petitioners shall jointly pay a sum of Rs.10,000/- as costs to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
