PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to conduct a proper enquiry and dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 14-8-25 against the order of the 2nd respondent dated 25.07.2025 and consequently Direct the 1st respondent to restore the patta granted by the 3rd respondent, vide order dated 25.11.2022, in respect of Survey Nos. 372/5B, and 372/5C, Tirupattur Village, Sivagangai District, within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court. ORDER

After submitting a petition before the District Revenue Officer challenging the order dated 25.07.2025 of the Revenue Divisional Officer, the petitioner seeks the early disposal thereof.

2. Learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for respondents 1 to 3. He submits that the appeal would be considered and disposed of on merits within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and the 4th respondent.

3. Considering the nature of relief claimed and the submissions of learned Additional Government Pleader, it is not necessary to issue notice to the 4th respondent in this writ petition. Instead, without making any observations on the merits, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petition filed by the petitioner in relation to the cancellation of patta within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and the 4th respondent. No costs.
