: Respondents in both writ petitions COMMON PRAYER: Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writs of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records relating to the impugned order issued by the respondent by his proceedings Nil dated Nil and quash the same as illegal and consequentially to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner for appointment to the post of B.T.Assistant (English) within the period that may be stipulated by this Court. For Petitioner : Mr.C.Venkateshkumar For Respondent : Mr.C.Ramar Additional Government Pleader COMMON ORDER The order of non-selection of the writ petitioners to the post of B.T. Assistants is under challenge in the present writ petitions. The writ petitioners participated in the process of selection for appointment to the post of B.T.

Assistants during the year 2012. Admittedly, the writ petitioners were not selected. They were called for the certificate verification held on 06.11.2012. Though, the writ petitioners appeared in the process of certificate verification they were not issued with orders of appointment. Thus, the petitioners are constrained to move the present writ petitions. 2.Mere participation in the process of interview or certificate verification would not confer any right on the petitioners to secure appointment by filing writ petitions. The authorities competent are empowered to cancel the selection at any point of time, if there are sufficient reasons or an administrative decision is taken in this regard.

So also, the candidates who participated in the selection is at liberty to challenge the process of selection, if there is any malpractice or irregularity or illegality or corrupt practices. Mere participation would not be a ground for the writ petitioners to seek appointment to the post of B.T. Assistant. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.

3.This apart, the writ petitioners appeared in the certificate verification during the year 2012 and now the procedure for selection underwent changes. Now, the selections are made through the Teachers Recruitment Board and by conducting written examinations. Under these circumstances, the participation of the writ petitioners during the year 2012 in the process of certificate verification cannot be a ground for granting the relief as such sought for in the present writ petitions. The writ petitioners are at liberty to participate in the process of selection, if any notification is issued by the recruitment Board for the purpose of getting public employment. This Court wishes the writ petitioners to secure appointment by participating in the open notification. 4.Accordingly, the writ petitions are dismissed. No costs.
