Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay interest at the rate of 6 percent per annum to petitioner for the belated payment of Gratuity, Provident Fund, Leave Salary and EL Surrender Leave Salary from the date of retirement to the date of actual payment within a time frame as may be fixed by this Honble court and pass such other or further orders as this Honble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of this case and thus render justice. 1/4

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay interest at the rate of 6 percent per annum to petitioner for the belated payment of Gratuity, Provident Fund, Leave Salary and EL Surrender Leave Salary from the date of retirement to the date of actual payment.

2. Considering the admitted fact that there has been a delay in payment, the petitioner is entitled to statutory interest as provided under law.

3. In view of the same, the writ petition stands disposed of. The respondents are directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum on the belated terminal benefits payable to the petitioner from the date of his entitlement till the date of his payment within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
