ORDER

The petitioner seeks to quash the impugned final report filed for the offences under Sections 341, 324, 506(ii) I.P.C (corresponding to Sections 126, 118(1), 351 (3) BNS).

2. The gist of the allegation is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioner had attacked the defacto complainant with hands and abused him in filthy language and threatened him with dire consequences.

3. Admittedly, the petitioner and the second respondent belong to same village and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 25.11.2025.

4. The petitioner and the defacto complainant are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.S.Palanivelu, Special Sub Inspector of Police, E1-Pudur Police Station, Madurai District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them. 2/4

Considering the nature of the allegation and the compromise arrived at between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 25.11.2025, shall form part and parcel of the order. The petitioner shall pay a cost of Rs.5,000/- to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
