ORDER
The Writ Petition is filed for the issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus challenging the impugned proceedings in Na.Ka.No. 289/Forecast/Srivai Ka.Ne/Thoodi/25, dated 09.11.2025 and consequently, grant permission to conduct the Kabadi Tournament from 21.11.2025 to 23.11.2025 at Easavankulam Village, Srivaikundam Taluk, Thoothukudi. 2.It is seen from the impugned order that the third respondent has rejected the permission stating that the Police personnel are on patrol duty in the said village in connection with a murder case; and that there is a likely to be a law and order problem, if the kabadi tournament is allowed to be conducted. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents Police, however, would submit that permission cannot be granted for conducting the kabadi tournament for three days. He would also fairly submit that the reason cited by the third respondent for rejection that there is a possibility of law and order problem while conducting the kabadi tournament 2/5
may not be justified.
4.In view of the same, this Court is inclined to set aside the impugned order, dated 09.11.2025. The third respondent is directed to grant permission for the conduct of the Kabadi tournament for any two days between 21.11.2025 to 23.11.2025 and to pass appropriate orders. The petitioner shall abide by any conditions that may be imposed by the third respondent. 5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
