Ganesan Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus to consider the representation, dated 09.10.2025 within the time as fixed by this Honble Court, further direct the respondent to ensure peaceful performance of Kida and Koli festival in Sri Pananthamudiya Ayyanar and Sri Kanchirankali Amman Thirukovil on 14.11.2025 and 16.11.2025 irrespective of any first honour to any particular one.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 09.10.2025 and to ensure the peaceful conduct of the Kida and Koli festival in Sri 2/6

Pananthamudiya Ayyanar and Sri Kanchirankali Amman Thirukovil on 14.11.2025 and 16.11.2025, irrespective of any claim for first honour.

2. The earlier dates mentioned in the writ petition are now over, and the petitioner submits that the festival is rescheduled to 12.12.2025, the last Friday of Karthigai month.

3. The only contention raised by the petitioner is that first honour should not be granted to anyone. The learned counsel for the 6th respondent also agreed that first honour shall not be given to anyone. However, he insisted that the temple festival shall be conducted with participation of all the people without any discrimination.

4. Therefore, this Court directs the respondents 3 and 5 to ensure the peaceful conduct of the Kida and Koli festival in Sri Pananthamudiya Ayyanar and Sri Kanchirankali Amman Thirukovil on 12.12.2025, without granting first honour to any individual. It is made clear that there shall not be any discrimination or conferment of first honour to any person. 3/6

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
