O R D E R
This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing respondents 1 to 3 to remove the erroneous entry of the fourth respondent's name made in respect of T.S. Nos. 41 and 42, Block No. 25, Ward BL, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli, in the Town Survey Land Register (TSLR), by restoring the name of Arumugam, son of Sankarapandi, and to correct the corresponding Town Survey Field Map, based on the petitioner's representation dated 08.10.2025.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3. The petitioner claims that the subject property referred to above have been in the possession of his family for several decades. However, without issuing notice to the petitioner, the entry in T.S. No. 42 was 2/5
changed to one Thangaraj in the year 2016 and was subsequently altered to reflect the name of the fourth respondent. In this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 08.10.2025 seeking rectification of the erroneous entries in the TSLR. As no action has been taken by the respondents, the present writ petition has been filed.
4. Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of respondents 1 and 2 submits that the petitioner's representation dated 08.10.2025 will be considered and disposed of in accordance with law.
5. In view of the above submission, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.10.2025 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. Such representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an inquiry and affording a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, the fourth respondent and to all other persons who may be 3/5
affected by such decision during the course of the inquiry. In the event of any issues pertaining to land disputes, the parties shall approach the competent civil court. No costs.
