O R D E R
This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondent to expedite the investigation in Crime No. 30/2024, dated 10.02.2024 and to file the Final Report within a stipulated time in accordance with law.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's father, Senthilkumar, worked as construction labour. On 09.02.2024 morning, he left home for doing centring work along with one Murugan. On that day at 9 p.m., the petitioner's father informed petitioner's mother that he was having night work in the construction of HDFC Bank Building that was going on near Arya Bakery, Polpettai in Yettaiyapuram, Tuthookudi Road and so he would not come home. While the fact remained so, the co-worker, Murugan made a call during the early morning at 2 a.m. on 10.02.2024 and informed us that while doing centring work in the newly constructing HDFC Bank Building at about 1.15 a.m., the petitioner's father fell unconscious due to electric shock. Immediately, they informed the ambulance and took him to Thoothukudi Page No. 2 of 4
Government Hospital, where the Doctors checked and informed that he was brought in dead. Thereafter, the petitioner, his mother and his relations went to Government Hospital and saw the dead body of his father and thereafter, lodged the complaint and the case was registered in Cr.No.30/2024 on the file of SIPCOT Police Station u/s. 174 Cr.P.C.
3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), Mr.K.Sakthi Kumar, submitted that the investigation has already been completed and the final report will be filed within one month.
4. In view of the same, this Court directs the respondent police to file the final report before the jurisdictional Magistrate within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
