Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent Nos.1 to 5 to provide compensation of Rs.30,00,000/- (Thirty Lakhs Rupees Only) to petitioner's family within stipulated time fixed by this Court for the loss of petitioner mother's life due to the respondent's negligent conduct and for other reliefs by considering the petitioner's representation dated 28.10.2025. ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking for a mandamus to direct the respondent Nos.1 to 5 to provide compensation of Rs.30,00,000/- (Thirty Lakhs Rupees Only) to petitioner's family within stipulated time fixed by this Court for the loss of petitioner mother's life due to the respondent's negligent conduct and for other reliefs by considering the petitioner's representation dated 28.10.2025.

2. Heard the argument of the learned counsel appaering for the petitioner and Mr.S.Deenadhayalan, learned Standing Counsel, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The petitioner would submit that his mother died due to electrocution. It is his contention that despite several requests made by him, the respondents failed to take any steps to shift the electric pole situated near the petitioner's house to any other suitable place. Due to the negligence on the part of the respondents, the petitioner lost his mother. In this regard, he lodged a complaint. Thereafter, the petitioner sent a representation to the respondents/ TANGEDCO seeking compensation of Rs.30,00,000/- for the loss of his mother's life caused by their negligent conduct. However, the said representation has not been considered so far. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit it would suffice if a direction is issued to the fourth respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass order, within a stipulated time. 3/6

Considering the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the fourth respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 28.10.2025 on its own merits and pass orders within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
