Respondents (Cause title is amended vide order dated 18.11.2025 in W.P.(MD) No.32827 of 2025) PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to conduct survey and fix boundaries to petitioner's land situated in survey No.1097/5 admeasures about 0.2.200 hect/Ares situated in Veerasikamani Village, Sankaran Kovil Taluk, Tenkasi District based on the representation dated on 10.04.2023 within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

By relying on patta No.829 in the name of the petitioner's late husband, Chelladurai and the death certificate and legal heir certificate, the petitioner had applied for the survey of the land in Natham Survey No.1097/5 of an extent of 2.20 ares. The present Writ Petition relates thereto.
2. Learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for both the respondents. He submits that notice would be issued to all the legal heirs of late Chelladurai and to the owners of relevant adjacent lands before undertaking the survey.

Learned counsel for the petitioner points out that an inadvertent error was committed while describing the respondents and that the correct description is Tahsildar, Sankarankovil Taluk and Firka Surveyor, Sankarankovil Taluk. The Registry is directed to carry out these amendments in this Writ Petition before the order is issued.
4. The petitioner has placed on record the patta in the name of her 2/4
late husband and the death and legal heir certificates. As per the legal heir certificate, the only surviving legal heirs are the petitioner and her daughter and son. On instructions, learned counsel for the petitioner confirms that there is no rival title claim.
5. In the above facts and circumstances, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the respondents to initiate action on the petitioner's request for a survey after issuing notice to all the legal heirs of the late Chelladurai and to owners of relevant adjacent lands. Objections, if any, from the above persons shall be taken into consideration. The entire process shall be concluded within two (2) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
