The petitioners seeks to quash the impugned FIR registered for the alleged offences under Sections 147, 294(b), 323, 506(i) and 379 I.P.C.

2. The gist of the allegation is that the first petitioner had sold a property; that he had misappropriated the defacto complainant's share in the sale consideration; and thus committed the aforesaid offences along with the other petitioners.

3. Admittedly, the petitioners and the second respondent are close relatives and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 12.11.2025.

4. The petitioners and the second respondent are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.A.Ragu, Sub Inspector of Police, Kadupatti Police Station, Madurai District. The defacto complainant does not wish to pursue the case. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

5. Considering the nature of the allegation, the relationship and the compromise arrived at between the parties, this Court is of the view that 2/4

no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 12.11.2025, shall form part and parcel of the order. The petitioners shall jointly pay a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) as costs to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
