ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to release the compensation amount of Rs.1,44,002/- and accrued interest lying in deposit with the Indian Bank, High Court Branch, Madurai, to the petitioner within a stipulated time.

2. Heard, the Petitioner/ Party in Person and Mr.Aayiram K. Selvakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2.

3. Earlier, this court has passed an order dated 03.01.2018, directed the Registry to verify the total amount pending in the Fixed Deposit and also directing the District Revenue Officer, Madurai, to apportion the amount and file a report.

4. Today, The District Revenue Officer, Madurai, filed a report dated 05.01.2018, stating that as on date the total amount pending in Fixed Deposit is Rs.2,66,179/-(Two Lakhs Sixty Six thousand and hundred and Seventy Nine only) out of which the petitioner is entitled for a sum of Rs.2,63,033/-(Two Lakhs Sixty Three thousand Thirty Three only) and one K. Rajeswari is entitled for a sum of Rs.3,146/-(Three thousand hundred and forty six only).

In the above said circumstances, the Registrar (Administration), Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, Madurai, is directed to close the Fixed Deposit and withdraw the amount and directed to issue a cheque to the petitioner for a sum of Rs.2,63,033/- and for the remaining amount of Rs.3,146/-, issue a cheque to the District Revenue Officer, Madurai. The District Revenue Officer is further directed to disburse the amount to the land owner K. Rajeswari.

6. With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
