Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of mandamus directing the respondent to promote the petitioner from 25.09.1996 as Junior Assistant instead of from 26.05.2004 as per G.O.Ms.No.621 dated 26.03.1941 public (Services) Department and consequently direct the respondent to grant consequential benefits to the petitioner. O R D E R

The learned counsel for the petitioner sought permission of this Court to withdraw the Writ Petition. He has made an endorsement to that effect and also circulated a letter dated 14.11.2016 to the Registry, wherein it has been stated as follows: "I have filed the above writ petition against Alagappa University now the issue is going to settle. Hence I request you to withdraw the same."

2. In view of the letter dated 14.11.2016 circulated to the Registry and endorsement made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Writ Petition is dismissed as withdrawn. No costs.
