Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to preserve the CCTV footage in Arulmigu Koodal Azhagar Perumal Thirukovil, Madurai under the control of the Respondent No.4 on 15.09.2025 at 9 p.m to 11 p.m in connection with Crime No.211 of 2025 and Crime No.212 of 2025 dated 16.09.2025.

ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for Mandamus to direct the respondents to preserve the CCTV footage in Arulmigu Koodal Azhagar Perumal Thirukovil, Madurai, which is under the control of the fourth respondent, on 15.09.2025 from 9 p.m to 11 p.m in connection with Crime No.211 of 2025 and Crime No.212 of 2025 dated 16.09.2025.

It is the case of the petitioner that he had given a complaint against one Indirarajan, Thavamani and 40 others for causing hurt to him, his sons and wife; that a case has been registered in Crime No.212 of 2025; that there is a counter complaint registered in Crime No.211 of 2025; and that the CCTV footages are necessary to establish his case.

3. The learned counsel for the fourth respondent would submit that the fourth respondent has preserved the CCTV footages. 2/5

4. In view of the above submission, this Court is of the view that there is no reason to issue a Writ of Mandamus as prayed for. It is for the petitioner to approach the competent Court as and when he needs those CCTV footages to establish his case.

5. With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
