ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus as against the 1st respondent to renew the petitioner's passport based upon the application dated 27.10.2025

The learned counsel appearing for the 2nd respondent has brought to the notice of the Court that the petitioner was initially implicated in a criminal case in Cr.No.572 of 2021 on the file of the Teppakulam Police Station. The said FIR was later transferred to EOW, Madurai and renumbered as Cr.No.1 of 2023. This has culminated in filing of the charge sheet in C.C.No.07 of 2025 and pending on the file of TNPID Court Madurai.

3. In view of the above said facts, the petitioner is directed to approach the concerned trial Court seeking prior permission of the Court to go abroad. In case, if any such application is filed, the same shall be disposed of within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Depending upon the order to be passed by the concerned trial Court, the 2nd respondent is directed to proceed in accordance with law.

4. With the above observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
