By consent of both sides, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

This writ petition has been filed for a mandamus to direct the respondents No.1 to 3 to complete the proceedings initiated by the 2nd respondent in Na.Ka.A2/7124/2025 dated 25.10.2025 within a time frame fixed by this Court and consequently direct them to relocate the burial ground situated in Survey No.128/1 at Perugamani Village, srirangam taluk, trichy district based on the petitioner's representation dated 16.10.2025.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.
4. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner and other villagers were using the lands in S.No.128/1 was used by them as burial 2/5
ground. Since the population has raised, they shifted the burial ground near to the Cauvery River. However, though it has been shifted, now the other religion people were burying the bodies in the burial ground and since their population are also increasing manyfold, they have given a representation to the respondents to shift the burial ground to some other place. The said representation was received by the 2nd respondent and the 2nd respondent has initiated proceedings and forwarded the same to the 3rd respondent. However, since no action has been taken so far, the petitioner is before this Court with this writ petition.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the fact that the representation was preferred as early as on 16.10.2025, which has been subsequently forwarded to the 4th respondent by the 2nd respondent vide his proceedings dated 25.10.2025, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction: The 2nd respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/5
