By asserting that the petitioner has been in possession and enjoyment of 14 cents in survey No.600/1, Thirumancholai Village, on the basis that patta was erroneously issued to the fifth and sixth respondents in contravention of applicable Revenue Standing Orders, the petitioner had submitted representations seeking cancellation thereof. The present Writ Petition relates thereto.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner referred to documents relating to the consumption of power by the petitioner for the property bearing S.F.No.600/1. He also referred to a few property tax receipts.

3. Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for 2/5

respondents 1 to 4. He submits that the District Collector has referred the matter for adjudication to the Revenue Divisional Officer. After providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and the private respondents, he submits that an order would be issued within three (3) months.

Accordingly, without expressing any opinion on the merits, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the third respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's request for cancellation of patta within three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and the private respondents herein. Since the merits have not been examined and in view of the direction to provide a reasonable opportunity to the private respondents, this Writ Petition is being disposed of without notice to them. No costs.
