By asserting that an extent of 1 acre and 76 cents in survey Nos. 76/2 and 71/1C in Maathur village, Karaikudi Taluk, belongs to the petitioner's grandfather, Arumugam Ambalam, the petitioner had applied to the Revenue Divisional Officer for inclusion of the name of the petitioner's father in the pattas relating to the above-mentioned survey numbers. The present Writ Petition seeks the early disposal of such request.

2. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice for both the respondents. He submits that the inquiry has been scheduled on 27.11.2025 by the Revenue Divisional Officer.

3. On perusal of patta No.384 relating to survey No.76/2, it is clear that the patta stands in the name of one Palaniappan. Patta No.4 relating to survey No.71/1C stands in the names of Kanagam and Muruganandam. Therefore, it is necessary to issue notice to these persons and provide them a reasonable opportunity before a decision is taken on the petitioner's request.

Subject to the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's request for inclusion of his father's name in the two pattas. After issuing notice to the persons mentioned in the previous paragraph, a speaking order shall be issued within three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
