The above writ petition has been filed for the following relief:- "Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus seeking direction to direct the 3 to 6th respondents herein to consider his representation dated 05.06.2025, seeking compensation prescribed in the manner known to Law for the death of petitioners deceased son Prasanth, who died due to electrocution on 30.11.2023 at Tiruchendur temple."

2. Mrs.D.Farjana Ghoushia, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the 1st respondent. Mr.S.Deenadhayalan, learned Standing Counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondents 2 to 4. Mr.M.Muthugeethayan, learned counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondents 5 and 6.

3. By consent of both the parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The facts as set out in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition reads as follows:- The petitioner would submit that he along with his wife and three sons had gone to the Thiruchendur Temple on 30.11.2023 and when they were about to enter into the temple, he found his 2nd son namely Prasanth sitting unconscious on the northern side of the police outpost of the temple. The petitioner immediately rushed to the spot and tried to rescue his son but he suffered electric shock and then an unknown person who was standing nearby acted swiftly and rescued the petitioner. Thereafter, the petitioner's 2nd son namely Prasanth was admitted to the Government 3/6

Hospital, Thiruchendur for treatment and after examination, the doctor declared him dead. A case was registered by the Inspector of Police, Trichendur Police Station, under Section 174 of Cr.P.C in Crime No.119 of 2023. After enquiry, the Inspector of Police, Trichendur Police Station had filed a final report before the Judicial Magistrate, Tiruchendur on 13.09.2024, stating that the petitioner's 2nd son namely Prasanth died due to electrocution and the same was also affirmed in the post mortem report.

5. He would submit that due to improper maintenance of the electric pole, the petitioner's 2nd son namely Prasanth had died from electrocution. Therefore, he had sent a representation dated 05.06.2025 seeking compensation for the death of his son namely Prasanth. However, no action has been taken to date. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner is before this Court.

6. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 05.06.2025, will be considered and orders will be passed within the time period stipulated by this Court.

In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the 3rd respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.06.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

8. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above observations. No costs.
