Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to delete the petitioner's name from the History sheet being maintained in the 3rd respondent police station forthwith by considering the petitioner's representation dated 28.10.2025 in accordance with law, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for Mandamus to direct the respondents to delete the petitioner's name from the history sheet being maintained in the 3rd respondent police station forthwith by considering the petitioner's representation dated 28.10.2025 in accordance with law.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

In view of the limited prayer sought for in the writ petition, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 28.10.2025, by taking into consideration the guidelines laid down by this Court in Thirumagan and another vs. The Superintendent of Police, Madurai District and others, reported in 2020-2-L.W. (Crl.) 266, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
