Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 3rd respondent to restore and re-activate the petitioner's mobile number 9382562789 by the 4th respondent forthwith; direct the 5th respondent to de-freeze and fully restore the bank account of the petitioner's wife maintained at the 7th respondent branch; direct the respondents 2, 3, 6 and 8 to pay suitable compensation to the petitioner for the loss, hardship, harassment and violation of fundamental rights caused due to the illegal action based on the petitioner's representation, dated 08.11.2025.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 3rd respondent to restore and re-activate the petitioner's mobile number 9382562789 by the 4th respondent forthwith; direct the 5th respondent to de-freeze and fully restore the bank account of the petitioner's wife maintained at the 7th respondent branch; direct the respondents 2, 3, 6 and 8 to pay suitable compensation to the petitioner for the loss, hardship, harassment and violation of fundamental rights caused due to the illegal action based on the petitioner's representation, dated 08.11.2025.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, would submit that the sixth respondent has addressed a letter to the third respondent/Superintendent of Police, stating that the mobile number of the petitioner bearing No.9382562789, is genuine and the account of the petitioner's wife linked to the said number maintained with the seventh respondent is required to be consequently defrozen.

3. The learned counsel for the seventh respondent would acknowledge that the Inspector of Police had sent a communication to the 7th respondent to 3/6

unblock the petitioner's phone number and to defreeze his wife's account. As a result of which, the account of the petitioner's wife, has now been defrozen.

4. In view of the stand and the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor as well as the learned counsel for the seventh respondent Bank no further orders are required and hence, this Writ Petition is disposed of. If the phone number of the petitioner has not been unblocked so far, the respondents may unblock the same forthwith.
