By relying on pattas in the name of the petitioner's grandfather Ayyappa Naickar, the petitioner asserts that he and his father were in possession and enjoyment of the lands described in paragraph No.3 of the affidavit. It is also stated that after the death of his father, only the petitioner is undertaking cultivation on the said lands.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he had made a request for crop-wise land records for the current fasali year and the said request has not been accepted till date.

3. Learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for all the respondents. He points out that the petitioner's father has 4 surviving legal heirs and that an inquiry would be conducted before a decision is taken.

In view of the above submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the Tahsildar to conduct an inquiry in relation to the petitioner's request for issuance of Adangal in his name and to pass a speaking order within two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after providing a reasonable opportunity to all the legal heirs of the late Ramasamy. No costs.
