By asserting that 2 ares in survey No.149/7 originally belonged to the petitioner's grandfather, Muthokon, as per the pre-UDR settlement Registers, the petitioner had applied for the deletion of the name of one Alagappan from joint patta No.1589. The present Writ Petition relates thereto.

2. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice for all the respondents. He submits that the alleged error occurred during the UDR. He also points out that the District Revenue Officer has called upon the Revenue Divisional Officer to take necessary action.

3. On the basis of documents filed in this Writ Petition, it is not possible to ascertain whether the error occurred during the UDR or subsequently. If it is an error relating to the UDR, the District Revenue 2/4

Officer is authorised; otherwise, the Revenue Divisional Officer is empowered to take action.

4. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the first and second respondents to consider the petitioner's request for deletion of the name of Alagappan from patta No.1589. After providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and the said Alagappan, a speaking order shall be issued within three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
