ORDER

The above writ petition has been filed for the following relief:- "Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a directing the respondents to consider the petitioners representation dated 27.10.2025 and to change the petitioners name as Deepanandan instead of Murugesh.in the birth certificate of the petitioners Son namely Yogaraj."

2. Mr.K.Balasubramani, takes notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2. Mrs.S.Jeya Priya, learned Government Advocate takes notice on behalf of the respondents 3 and 4.

3. The facts as set out in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition reads as follows:- 2/6

The petitioner would submit that his name was mistakenly given as Murugesh instead of Deepanandan in the birth certificate issued to the petitioner's second son namely Yogaraj, who is now studying 10th standard. The petitioner's son namely Yogaraj was asked to submit his certificates for attending the examinations to be conducted in his school and he has also submitted the same. Upon verification, the school authorities found that the petitioner's name was wrongly typed in the birth certificate. Therefore, the school authorities had asked the petitioner to change his name in his son's birth certificate.

4. In this connection, the petitioner has sent a representation dated 27.10.2025 to the respondents. However, no action has been taken to date. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner is before this Court.

5. Mrs.S.Jeya Priya, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 3 and 4 would submit that the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 27.10.2025 will be considered and orders will be passed within the time stipulated by this Court. 3/6

In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.10.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of three (3) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above observations. No costs.
