ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking Mandamus directing the Respondents to permit the Petitioner to carry out the work as per the Work Order issued by the Respondent no.2 in Na.Ka.No.2884/2024/A6 dated 23.05.2025 and Na.Ka.No.4047/2025/A6 dated 29.05.2025 in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.A.Kannan, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.V.Omprakash, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice on behalf of the third respondent. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. It is informed by the learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions, that the authorities were forced to halt the work as the villagers objected to the demolition stating that the water tank in question was in good 2/4

condition. Accordingly, the authorities have proposed to conduct an inspection of the said water tank and after assessing its stability will either proceed with demolition or abandon the proposal.

4. In view of the above submission, this Writ Petition is disposed of. In the event the authorities abandon the project, the EMD amount shall be refunded to the petitioner within two weeks from the date of such decision. No costs.
