The petitioner traces title to 5 acres and 25 cents in survey No. 1135/1 from his maternal grandmother, Parvati. The petitioner asserts that his mother inherited the property and that she settled the same in favour of the petitioner under a settlement deed dated 12.11.2012. On the ground that the name of Periyaramu was erroneously included in the patta, the present Writ Petition has been filed after filing an appeal before the Revenue Divisional Officer.

2. Learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for respondents 1 to 4. On instructions, he submits that the name of the said Periyaramu was included during the UDR.

3. Considering the submissions of learned Additional Government Pleader, it appears that the petitioner is complaining of an alleged UDR error. The authority to consider grievances relating to alleged UDR errors has been conferred on the District Revenue Officer.

4. Accordingly, without expressing any opinion on the merits, this Writ Petition is disposed of by issuing the following directions: i. The petitioner is permitted to submit a representation to the District Revenue Officer within two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

ii. Within three (3) months from the date of receipt thereof, the District Revenue Officer is directed to consider and dispose of such request on merits after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and the fifth respondent.

iii. No costs.

5. Since the merits of the matter have not been examined and in view of the direction to provide a reasonable opportunity to the fifth 3/5

respondent before taking a decision, this Writ Petition is being disposed of without notice to the private respondent.
