PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the second respondent herein to hear and dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 22.10.2025 filed under section 12 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983 to cancel/modify the Patta transfer order stands in the name of the 4 to 9 Respondents and restore the same in favour of petitioner's mother Sivagami Ammal with respect to the land in Old T.S.No.401/3, New T.S.No.430 and 431 to an extent of 111 Sqm and 5555.50 Sqm in Block 08, Ward 14, Karaikudi Town, Karaikudi Taluk, Sivagangai District and pass appropriate orders within a time stipulated by this Court.

After filing an appeal before the Revenue Divisional Officer seeking cancellation of the pattas issued in the names of respondents 4 to 9, the petitioner seeks the early disposal of such appeal.

2. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice for respondents 1 to 3. He submits that the Revenue Divisional Officer would dispose of the appeal within four (4) months after providing a reasonable 2/4

opportunity to the petitioner and the private respondents.

3. Considering the nature of relief claimed, it is unnecessary to issue notice to the private respondents in this Writ Petition. Instead, without making any observations on the merits, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's appeal within four (4) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and the respondents 4 to 9 herein.
