O R D E R
(Order of the Court was made by C.V.Karthikeyan, J.) The petition has been filed complaining that the daughter of the petitioner aged about 19 years has been missing on and from 03.11.2025. In this connection, FIR had been lodged and had been registered in Crime No.135/2025 as 'woman missing'. The petitioner had also impleaded the 4th respondent and suspected that his daughter would have moved away from the residential house with the 4th respondent.
2. Today, the detenue had been produced before us. The petitioner and his wife/parents of the detenue are also present. The detenue is studying 2nd year B.Sc.(CS) and we had advised her to complete her studies. She is however of the firm opinion that she would reside with
the 4th respondent, but that would not be possible, since she had not attained the age of 21.
3. However, the 4th respondent, who had been appraised with the situation, had filed the following affidavit: "4. I humbly submit that After 8th January of 2026 my age is 21 completed. 1 undertake that I will marry the detenue and Register the Marriage before the Register office. Moreover, the detenue studying IInd year, B.sc. Computer Science at P.S.R.Arts and Science College, Sevalpatti. I am ready to bear All the expenses of the detenue while she is in the Hostel."
4. We must also inform that the petitioner has also filed an affidavit indicating the fees offered to his daughter. The detenue is quite firm in her opinion that it would only be appropriate if the 4th respondent pays the fees. Since her long term relationship will have to be with the 4th respondent, recording the undertaking, the detenue may be permitted to the hostel in the College where she is now studying at PSR Arts and Science College, Sevalpatti, Sivakasi Taluk, Virudhunagar District. We
deeply appreciate the steps taken by Mr.Nambirajan, Inspector of Police, and Mr.Anandakumar, Sub Inspector of Police, Alangulam police Station, for having interacted with the college authority/PSR Arts and Science College to ensure admission of the detenue in the hostel. Since the detenue had been secured, no further directions are required. Accordingly, the petition stands closed.
