ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.) Challenging the order passed by the learned Single Judge directing the appellants to pay a sum of Rs.1 lakh in lump sum on or before 25.08.2025 towards gratuity in W.P.(MD)No.10833 of 2025, the present writ appeal came to be filed.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed on record.

3.Today, when the writ appeal is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the appellant would submit that if the lump sum amount is restricted to a sum of Rs.1 lakh, they will pay the same on or before 25.04.2026.

4.The learned counsel for the respondents 1 to 4 would submit that the same representation has been made before learned Single Judge. However, the the appellant has not paid the same. He would further submits that sif the said amount is paid, the respondents 1 to 4 will not insist the case any further.

5.Considering the submissions made on either side, the appellant is directed to pay a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) on or before 25.04.2026. It is made clear that, in the event of failure to pay the said amount within the stipulated time, the amount shall carry interest in accordance with the applicable statute from the date of the order passed by the learned Single Judge. It is further made clear that all the legal heirs shall either receive the entire amount jointly or give consent to anyone to receive the amount.

6.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
