ORDER

The petitioner seeks to quash the impugned FIR registered for the alleged offences under Sections 147, 294(b), 323 and 506(i) I.P.C.

2. The gist of the allegation is that on account of priority, the petitioner along with other accused had caused hurt to the defacto complainant. besides committing the offence of criminal intimidation and abusing the defacto complainant in filthy language and thus committed the aforesaid offences.

3. Admittedly, the petitioner and the second respondent belong to same village and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 17.11.2025.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) would submit that though the F.I.R has five named accused, the first respondent after completion of investigation, intend to file a final report only as against the petitioner for the aforesaid offence. 2/5

5. The petitioner and the second respondent are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.P.Rajamanickam, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Woraiyur Police Station, Tiruchirappalli City. The defacto complainant does not wish to pursue the case. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

6. Considering the nature of the allegation, the relationship and the compromise arrived at between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR is quashed in entirety and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 17.11.2025, shall form part and parcel of the order. The petitioner shall pay a sum of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) as costs to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
