This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 11.12.2024 and to correct the error committed by the third respondent in classifying the petitioner's land comprised in S.Nos. 184, 185, 186, 187 and 188, presently situated at Muthuramalingam Street, Sankarankovil Kasba, Sankarankovil Taluk and formerly situated at Kaavalparaiyan Koil Street, Sankarankovil Kasba, Sankarankovil Taluk, as Government land.
2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Page No. 2 of 6
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the subject property belongs to the petitioner. However, the third respondent has wrongly classified the same as 'Government Land' without any basis. Though the petitioner approached the third respondent on several occasions seeking correction of the same, the third respondent has not taken any steps to correct the error. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 13.08.2024 and a reminder dated 11.12.2024 to the respondents seeking rectification of the error. However, no action has been taken on the petitioner's representation. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first to third respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representations dated 13.08.2024 and 11.12.2024 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the first respondent, who is the competent authority, for correction of classification within a period of sixteen weeks.
5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a Page No. 3 of 6
direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 13.08.2024 and 11.12.2024 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representations shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The first respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order. In the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to pursue their remedies before the competent Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
