ORDER

This Petition has been filed to punish the Contemnor / 1st Respondent for his wilful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in WP(MD) No.16161 of 2018 dated 09.12.2024. 1/4

2. The learned counsel for the respondent submitted that as directed by this Court, the petitioner was paid the insured amount with interest at the rate of 6% from the date on which this Court passed order.

3. On perusal of the records, it revealed that the petitioner's husband died on 17.05.2015. Therefore, the petition is entitled for interest at the rate of 6% from the date of the claim, which was made under the policies. Therefore the respondent is directed to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the date of claim petition under the policy within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
