ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus as against the 1st respondent for re-issuing of the passport based upon his request dated 04.11.2025

2. The learned counsel appearing for the 2nd respondent brought to the notice of the Court that the petitioner has been implicated in a criminal case in Cr.No.308 of 2023 on the file of the 2nd respondent which has culminated in filing of the charge sheet before the learned Judicial Magistrate Vadippatti on 20.01.2023. Due to certain defects charge sheet has been returned and so far it has not been represented.

3. Considering the fact that the charge sheet has not yet been taken on file for the past two years and the pendency of FIR is not a legal impediment for re-issuance of the passport, this Court is inclined to direct the 1st respondent to consider the request of the petitioner dated 04.11.2025 and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks. 2/4

4. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above observations. No costs.
